Schooled by King Tubby and Lee Scratch Perry and with longstanding personal links to Junior Murvin and members of the Congos, Mikey Dread was well-placed to craft individual pieces of roots reggae, and since the art of toasting is indelibly linked to the version B-sides of dub, Mikey Dread wound up creating a stream of exceptional dub records in addition to his own vocal work. He was a skilled producer as well, as roots music was heading towards the dancehall direction. As such he collaborated with Watty Burnett & Michael Israel and produced these great tracks for them.
This fifth 10-inch in this exclusive series features tracks produced by Mikey Dread and feature Watty Burnett and Michael Israel. It’s exclusively available for Record Store Day 2024 and is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on solid red, solid green, and solid gold coloured vinyl. 250 copies are available of each colour variant and are distributed at random.
