Bill Henderson may not have been a household name among jazz singers, but this 1963 release raises a valid point that maybe he should have been. Of course, taking on this mix of standards with the Oscar Peterson Trio – including Ed Thigpen (Drums) and Ray Brown (Bass), certainly could make a lesser talent look better. But Henderson matches the groups ability and elevates classics like All or Nothing At All, and You Are My Sunshine with his own point of view.
